More revelations have continued to emerge in the lingering rift between Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, Senator Isah Hamma Misau (APC, Bauchi).
The Senator revealed that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris bought two Prado jeeps for Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari also alleging that Aisha requested for a Sienna and Hiace from the IGP through her ADC.
He disclosed this on appearing before the Senate ad-hoc committee as the probing of his quarrel with Nigeria's Police boss continues.
“The First Lady through her aide-de-camp (ADC) requested for a Toyota Hiace and Sienna. The same day that the ADC wrote; the IG minuted that she should be given two jeeps. And it is not part of the appropriation. If you look at the appropriation, there is nowhere they said the First Lady should be given two jeeps,” he said.
Speaking further, Senator Misau alleged that tampered with his retirement date by doctoring the Staff List of Senior Police Officers.
Reacting, however, the Chairman of the ad-hoc Committee and Deputy Chief Whip, Francis Alimikhena ordered the Idris Abubakar to appear the panel next week.
