Breaking: Finally, Federal High Court formally proscribes IPOB, declares it a terrorist group

The Indeginous People of Biafra and its activities has also been outlawed by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

This is in a bid to give a judicial backing to the executive order of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters had few days ago declared the secessionist group, IPOB a terror organisation.

Justice Abdu Kafarati, the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court granted the order proscribing the group on Wednesday.

The judge did not sit in the open court.

He heard and granted the ex parte motion filed by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), in chambers.
