Norwegian Refugee Council forecasts that Nigeria's food and security crisis has deteriorated. This, they say, is moving the country closer to famine with every passing day even as it predicts a rise in the number of people facing a crisis.
According to food and security experts no fewer than 4.7 million people in Nigeria's northeast risk emergency and famine conditions. by the end of August.
This includes 50,000 people forecast to be affected by famine-like conditions, according to the latest UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO)
