The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has won the hearts of many Nigerians as the agitation assumes a new phase which appears an all-inclusive fight following his declaration that Biafra is not just a living agitation but a fight for the survival of Christians and Christianity in Nigeria.
Kanu also said the ill-conceived plan is morally bound to fail and would never succeed in his lifetime, this avowed declaration to defend Christians has attracted support from Christians in all nooks and crannies of Nigeria thus forcing many ethnic nationalities all over Nigeria to stand behind him for the possible emergence of Christian South Nigeria and Muslim North Nigeria if the country has to break up.
This was contained in a statement while speaking to his supporters during a visit to the ancestral home of Igbo in Anambra State.
The IPOB Leader said the alleged plot was real, but the “evil agenda” won’t be able to be achieved in his life time.
Kanu’s reaction follows the statement by Bishop David Oyedepo, the General Overseer (GO) of Living Faith Church, that “Islamists are bent on Islamizing Nigeria.”
Kanu said: “The Islamisation plot is real but they won’t succeed in my life time. No, never; not when I am alive.
“The struggle for Biafra which I proudly lead is not a secessionist aspiration of Ndi-Igbo only as some erroneously think.
“Biafra is not just a living agitation but a fight for the survival of Christians in Nigeria against the entrenched threats of radical Islamic fundamentalists and their political collaborators within and outside Nigeria.”
