The All Progressives Congress, APC, has on Monday, said that the former Rivers State Governor and Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, has no property anywhere in Port Harcourt, the State capital.
The party maintained that Amaechi’s condition has become worse, to the extent that he stays in a hotel anytime he visits Port Harcourt, the garden city.
The party through the former Majority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Chidi Lloyd, made these claims on the African Independent Television, AIT, programme, tagged ‘Focus Nigeria’, which was monitored by Post-Nigeria .
He exonerated Amaechi from any act of corruption and embezzlement of public funds, while indicting Governor Nysom Wike, of wanton corruption.
He said: “As I speak, Rotimi Amaechi has no property of house in Port Harcourt. Any time he comes around, he usually sleeps in a hotel. That is to tell you how selfless and non corrupt he was when he was the Executive Governor of the oil rich State.”
“Amaechi from all intent and purposes, is not like Wike, who had almost bought and acquired all major property in the State capital, just two years of his office.”
Post-Nigeria however recalled, that Amaechi has been accused by Wike, of diverting the Rivers State funds, in sponsoring President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2015 campaign.
