The National Secretary of Arewa Consultative Forum , Ahmed Sule, has declared the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a rebel group resulting from its activities which it described as subversive.
He made the disclosure while speaking last week on the eviction order given the Igbos living in the North to relocate within three calendar months. Recall, the Chief Scribe of Arewa was quoted as saying “all Igbos currently residing in any part of Northern Nigeria are hereby served notice to relocate within three months and all northerners residing in the East are advised likewise.''
On moves being made by IPOB to restore the ancient nation of Biafra including the sit-at-home order, Sule frowned on the order on May 30 that locked down the entire south-east which, he said, resulted in the denial of other people's right to free movement in the south-east.
He said: “The persistence for the actualization of Biafra by the unruly Igbo of South-Eastern Nigeria has lately assumed another alarming twist which involved the forceful lockdown of activities and denial of other people’s right to free movement in the South-East by the rebel Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its overt and covert sponsors.”
