Barely three months after the inauguration of President Adama Barrow, Gambians are beginning to see the new leader as running a one-man show as due process is not followed in running the country such as awarding contracts and other important government business.
One of such is a corruption scandal making the rounds against President Adama Barrow's government, A concerned citizen has raised the alarm in a letter to the press that due process was not followed in the awarding of a certain contract to a Belgian firm, 'SEMLEX' whose notoriety is an open secret in Africa on account of its infamous deals on the continent.
According to the issues raised by a concern Gambian citizen in his letter to the press, Mai Fatty and President Adama Barrow are both accused of running the new government without due process or proper and extensive consultations with members of his cabinet before taking major decisions.
This sad and unfortunate development according to the report is seen causing outrage in government circles which does not augur well for the country.
President Adama Barrow is seen in this regard as toeing the infamous line of the immediate past administration of exiled leader Yahyah Jammeh.
The reports add that the above-named Belgian firm has sneaked into The Gambia, unknown to Gambians, to sign a deal which is being shrouded from public knowledge particularly government institutions like the Ministry of Justice, the cabinet and the legislative arm of government.
However, a bribe is being alleged to have changed hands and our team could not independently verify this claim and telephone calls to President Barrow's aide was not answered nor our SMS message responded to as of the time of filing this report.
The general feeling, however, is that Gambia may be sliding back to Jammeh days in this regard as the immediate past administration was seen as one vast empire of corruption.
In a similar vein, President Barrow is seen as acting the script of his exiled predecessor as con men are seen making the bulk of his cabinet who are not out to self-less services to develop the country.
He letter was rounded off by calling on Gambia's National Assembly to urgently conduct an independent inquiry into the ties between May Fatty and SEMLEX with a view to unravelling the alleged shady deal.
