A Port Harcourt-based lawyer, Mr Chijokwu Wombu, who many pro-Biafra agitators would described as probably opposed to the struggle to restore Biafra has criticised the observance of the holiday by some traders in the Igbo-dominated parts of Port Harcourt declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra as of no meaning.
Dropping a bombshell, Mr Chijokwu Wombu said the staying at home in adherence to the formal declaration of holiday did not make Rivers State part of Biafra and never will be.
Vanguard reports the fiery Port Harcourt lawyer simply said, 'it is of no meaning' adding that it was only observed in some Igbo dominated markets by traders who only pretended, milled around their shops and still sold wares whenever a buyer comes around.
He said, "I see the whole thing as mere showmanship, the traders merely pretend to have closed shops, but they are all milling around the business premises.''
"I tell you that they are in business, just go close and ask for something, you will be surprised that they will sell to you, people should stop being deceptive," he said.
