REPORTS coming into our news desk say a pastor has been shot dead and the body dumped into a roadside drainage system along Okpuno-Uzodike street by Bank Road, in Nnewi.
The deceased who pastors a Church, Jesus Covenant Bible Church, in the above-mentioned neighborhood was murdered during a robbery operation at a nearby commercial bank.
Confirming the incident to our reporter in Nnewi, an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said the pastor was shot after rushing out to find out what the noise he heard as all about.
“The armed robbers were attempting to gain access into one of the commercial banks around the area when the pastor went out to ascertain what was happening,” she said, adding that they later found his body in a drainage about 6:30 a.m. the following day.''
Meanwhile, the police when contacted confirmed the incident and said investigations into the incident is ongoing while the body has been deposited in a morgue
