THE bail granted the former National Security Adviser, Col Ibrahim Dasuki (rtd) has been affirmed by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The bail is predicated upon the amended charges of unlawful possession of firearms and and money laundry.
The bail was affirmed by Justice Ahmed Rahmat Mohammed after taken his plea in the amended seven-count charges since, according to the presiding Judge, the prosecution counsel Mr. Oladipo Okpeseyi (SAN) did not object to the bail of the ex-NSA.
On this ground the court in its ruling ordered that the defendant continues to enjoy the bail condition earlier granted him in 2015 when he was first arraigned.
Recall the defendant had in 2015 been granted bail by Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf of the Abuja High Court and Justice Justice Adeniyi Ademola and the ECOWAS court all in Abuja.
These bails granted by the above-named justices were never obeyed by the Federal Government as the defendant was still held and kept in custody by the Department of State Security Services (DSS).
Recall the Federal High Court also sitting in Abuja also granted bail to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu but the bail order was never heeded as the defendant was still held in custody by the Department of State Security.
