Veteran actor and lawyer Kenneth Okonkwo's dissociation of self from the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and Defunct Biafra Republic has sparked outrage among Biafrans, members and supporters of the IPOB Leader.
Okonkwo who on November 8th stormed the Federal High Court where Nnamdi Kanu was arraigned was erroneously reported to have been present in the court to stand in solidarity with the IPOB leader, but the popular film director later released a statement distancing himself from Kanu, Biafra and IPOB's activities, making it known that he had a different matter at the same court where Kanu was arraigned.
He however stated categorically that he believes in the unity of Nigeria and also believes that the destiny of Ndigbo will be better served within a Nigeria that is based on equity and justice.

Reacting to his comment, many IPOB members shredded the popular Nollywood actor and reminded him of how irrelevant he is in the struggle for the restoration of a sovereign State of Biafra. Some also said all he wanted was to use Nnamdi Kanu to gain fame in his legal field.
