PARIS, OCTOBER 29, 2016: (DGW) Forner presidential spokesman to President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Reuben Abati, arrested by the EFCC is still in custody of Nigeria's anti-graft body for being unable to meet bail conditions, DailyGlobeWatch has reliably gathered.
He was arrested on Monday this week by the EFCC on allegations of financial impropriety to the tune of N50 million. Mr. Abati during interrogation told the agents of the commission how the money was spent.
He revealed that in his capacity as spokesperson for the former president, he ensured the money was disbursed to media practitioners but was unable to tender any record for evidence of how the money in contention was disbursed.
Abati , however, got administrative.bail and the condition to perfect the bail condition includes presenting a senior federal civil servant with landed properties in Abuja.
“He will be released when he meets his bail conditions,” a source within the EFCC revealed to our correspondent in Abuja on Friday.
