Ekiti state House of Assembly has signed into law, a bill banning Fulani herdsmen or anyone from grazing anywhere in the state, not assigned to him/her as a ranch by the state government.
The law which attracts 6 months jail term as punishment has received tremendous commendation from the citizens of the state and Nigerians from other states.
Indigenes of Enugu state has called on their Governor, Mr Ugwuanyi, to emulate the actions of Ekiti state Governor and save the state from incessant Fulani herdsmen attacks, which recently claimed the life of a Seminarian and many others.
Here's an excerpt from the Ekiti state anti-grazing bill:
"No person shall cause or permit any cow, oxen, sheep as well as goat under his or her control to graze on any land in which the Governor has not designated as ranches".
