THE Federal Government has approved the immediate closure of no fewer than nine Embassies of Nigeria and their immediate conversion to conversion to non-residency representation or concurrent accreditation, DailyGlobeWatch reliably gathered.
This has become necessary, according to our source, to cut corners in the running of Nigeria's foreign missions due to the current economic downturn.
The affected missions are those whose absence portend no serious bilateral or diplomatic effect, our source revealed.
Below are the countries affected:
*Permanent Mission to the D-8 in Istanbul, Turkey
*Africa-South America Cooperation Forum (ASACOF) in Caracas,
*Venezuela
Others are Nigerian Embassies in Belgrade,
*Serbia
*Colombo,
*Sri Lanka;
*Kiev,Ukraine;
*Prague,Czech Republic;

High Commission in Singapore as well as Consulates in Buea,
