Edo State Police Commissioner Babatunde Johnson Kokumo has said what policing Edo State is like.
He made the revelation during his working visit to the Ugbekun and St Saviour Police Division in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the state.
While speaking he said policing a state like Edo is not easy but solicited the support of the police officers while urging the public to desist from offering bribes in return for bail.
Suspects, he said , are deemed innocent until proven otherwise, hence there is no basis whatsoever to demand or give a bribe.
His words: “I want to ensure the people can sleep with their eyes closed. Policing a state like Edo is not a joke. We will work hard to ensure criminals leave.
“I am not new in this job; policemen who want to connive with criminals are free to leave the state. I want to work with the best crop of policemen but I need the cooperation, understanding and collaboration of all.”
