THE United States of America has finally unveiled its plans to 'sink' Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the 2019 presidential elections in Nigeria. This disclosure was made in Abuja on Monday by the US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan.
He said the United States of America has no plans to support or endorse President Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming presidential elections in Nigeria.
Nigeria will be going to the polls in 2019 to elect a new president in another general election.
Speaking in Abuja on Monday, at the end of the US-Nigeria Bi-National Commission, the US Deputy Secretary of State, John Sullivan said the US will neither support President Muhammadu Buhari nor any other presidential candidate.
According to him, the United States will stand behind the Nigerian people to elect the president of their choice.
He said: ''What we want to do is to ensure to the extent we can assist to ensure free and fair elections and we won't pick those candidates''
Continuing, he said, ''We won't pick any candidate, we won't support any candidate, we want to support the Nigerian people and democracy in Nigeria''
''Any statement by the United States in the event of 2019 elections would be in support of the Nigerian people and democracy in Nigeria and not in support of any particular candidate'', he added.
