Reports reaching our Paris newsroom say a notorious gang of eight suspected kidnappers which has been unleashing terror on Esan land has eventually met their Waterloo.
The notorious gang was smashed by police officers from the Edo State Police Command.
Three of the suspects, DailyGlobeWatch reliably gathered were hired from Lagos to execute their dirty deal by some persons at Uromi, one of them being a neighbour of the victim.
The plan was reportedly hatched when the kidnappers abducted a certain businessman (name withheld) at the entrance of his house after shooting him in the leg to demobilize him and whisked him away in his car, a Highlander jeep.
However, he outsmarted his captors by opening the door and jumping out of the moving car as they took him to their hideout and eventually escaped.
After a fruitless search for him in the woods without success the kidnappers drove the Highlander jeep to Anambra State and had the jeep disposed of but as luck would have it, information all the suspects were swooped upon and the car recovered by detectives.
One of the suspects, our source revealed was discovered to be the victim’s neighbour in Uromi, Edo state who orchestrated the plan and provided the gang with useful information about the suspect.
