The Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, has been caught in a lie, trying to defend why President Muhamamdu Buhari will be working from home for now.

Ahmad in a desperate attempt to explain why the President will work from home, tweeted that the official office of the President was being renovated.

He was reacting to news reports which had stated that Buhari will be working from home, now that he has returned from his medical sojourn, where he had spent about 103days treating an undisclosed ailment. 

Ahmad in his tweet stated that: “Some renovations are on going at the office. He has a fully equipped office in his residence, he’ll be back to the main office in after the works.”

However, while a number of Nigerians wondered why the office was not made ready before the President’s return, one Twitter user, T.Ranking, reminded Ahmad that he had also tweeted a while ago soon before Buhari returned from London, that the President’s office was ready, and awaiting his return.

Recall, that Ahmad had tweeted earlier with a picture of an empty seat in an office, thought to be the President’s that: “The office is ready. It has missed baba too…”

He has however, deleted the first tweet, but not before it was screened grabbed by some of his followers.

Also in reply to another Twitter user, Stanley Nwabia, who reminded him of the previous tweet and said: “Understanding Lying And Witchcraft In Buhari’s Aso rock”, Ahmad tweeted, “Mr. Stanley, In case you don’t know, Nigeria’s President has many offices, including the one in his residence.”

Many other respondents lambasted Ahmad on his Twitter handle, with a number of them comparing him with the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
