Reports reaching our newsroom here in the French capital of Paris say Governor Ortom's aide, Tavershima Adyorough has just been murdered in cold blood.
Late Adyrough was Principal Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Knowledge Economy and Investments.
He was reportedly murdered by unknown gunmen on Sunday morning in his apartment at BIPC Estate Nyiman, Makurdi.
While confirming the incident to journalists, the Special Adviser to the governor on Media, Tever Akase described Mr. Adyrough as a dependable ally who displayed a rare gift of discipline and honesty.

Adoyo, he further revealed was shot after an armed invasion of his residence by the gunmen at about 12:30 am. As of the time of filing this report his is still lying critically in the hospital who was also shot by the gunmen.
Meanwhile, the statement says it will leave no stone unturned to ensure the perpetrators of the dastardly act are apprehended and brought to justice.
He said: “Governor Ortom describes the killing as unacceptable and condemnable, requesting security agencies to swing into action immediately so as to arrest those responsible for the dastardly act.
“The Governor sympathizes with the immediate family of the deceased, the government and people of the state on the loss and pledges that he would support security agencies in apprehending the culprits. He urges those with useful information that can lead to the arrest to make same available.”
