THE Federal Government preparations for a post-crude oil ear has begun as Nigeria and other oil-producing countries now find it ever so difficult to find buyers, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonaya has said.
He made the disclosure in Abuja on Tuesday at first science and technology innovation sensitization forum adding that many countries
now look away from the Black Gold and this had adversely affected the sales and revenues.

He said: “As I speak, Europe and other parts of the industrialized world are preparing for a post crude oil era. Nigeria must prepare in a similar way by ensuring that immediate measures are put in place that will fast track the role of science, technology and innovation as the new driver of our economic development process”, the minister said.
What makes a country wealthy is not mineral resources alone but the ability to convert the resources into goods and services via science and technology, the Minister remarked.
“The APC led Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is determined to ensure that science and technology play a vital role in its effort to diversify the nation’s economy, create jobs, reduce poverty, conquer illiteracy and substantially improve our people’s standard of living”, he added.
