The National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators (NCNDE-A), has urged the Federal Government not to allow Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra go scot free.
Throwing their weight behind the Federal Government they warned allowing Kanu to go without a stiff punishment would set a bad and dangerous precedent for Nigeria.
In a terse statement released by the coalition’s National President, Eshanekpe Israel, he called attention to what he describes as the excesses of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who he said has consistently flouted his bail conditions and “to let him off the hook could set a bad precedent in the nation.”
In his words: “Kanu should not be allowed to plunge the country into civil war,” he said.
He decried the seeming silence by human right activists on Kanu’s comments which he said was becoming very unbecoming.
The ex-militants warned they would no longer under any guise tolerate Kanu's agitation anywhere around the Niger Delta region.
