JUST IN: Federal lawmakers, Reps, Senators proceed on 8-week annual recess

 Member of Nigeria's upper legislative chamber, the House of Senate and the lower legislative chambers on Thursday proceeded on an eight-week annual recess.

The federal lawmakers are expected to reconvene on September 19.  

The announcement was made yesterday by the Senate President Bukola Saraki the end of the plenary session yesterday.

Before the annual recess, the federal lawmakers cleared the backlog of all pending legislative items.
