The Archbishop of the Diocese of Kaduna, Anglican Communion, Bishop Timothy Yahaya, has called on the United Nations to speedily intervene in the looming humanitarian catastrophe in Nigeria by those beating the drums of war or calling for the disintegration of Nigeria.
He made the disclosure while speaking at the 3rd session of the 20th synod of the diocese at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Kakuri, Kaduna, at the weekend.
He said countries in the West African subregion cannot bear the brunt of the impending catastrophe that the ongoing agitation for break up would inevitably lead to as separatists engage the federal authorities in a show of strength.
According to him, ‘'if today the country breaks up, there would no place to hide, there will be no place to go to. our neighbouring countries can not contend us as refugees. The number of cars in Lagos alone is more than all the cars in West Africa. So, everyone should be interested in what is happening in Nigeria”.
