The President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo says what Ndigbo want is Nigeria of equal ownership and not a Nigeria and not a Nigeria where some claim full ownership and see the rest of the country as a conquered people as being exhibited under the present arrangement by the Hausa-Fulani.
He said the injustice and ill-treatment being meted out to the South-East people has let to youth restiveness and the ongoing agitation for secession adding that it will not stop until the issues are fully addressed.
The former Information Minister said the lasting solution to the recurrent problem is in the last 2014 Confab whose resolutions the Buhari administration has failed to implement.
He made the disclosure while speaking on Channels Television Talkshow where he insisted that the current political structure is unworkable and should, therefore, be revisited.
Chief Nwodo lamented the rising spread of falsehood and hate against the Igbos which has led to the killing of Igbos and looting of their properties across Nigeria while the Federal Government pays deaf ears.
His words: 'Ohaneze Ndigbo's position is not to secede from Nigeria but want a Nigeria where we are all equal owners, and anything different from this makes self-determination inevitable''
Speaking further, he said Ohaneze Ndigbo could not oppose the sit-at-home ordered by the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra because it has not violated any Nigerian law to remember the fallen heroes and the millions of Igbos who lost their lives in the civil war.
