The President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo has said the Ndigbo would no longer adopt or support any political party or candidate but would support any party and candidate whose programmes would protect the interest of Ndigbo in Nigeria.
He stated this in Lagos while speaking to educate the Igbo residents in Lagos on the need to collect their voting cards and participate fully in the upcoming local government elections in Lagos State.
Speaking further the Ohaneze Ndigbo boss reminded the Igbos not to flirt with the idea of seceding from Nigeria but to be part of the political process to change the present tide by an effective use of their voting power which is encapsulated in their voter's card.
The Ndigbo he said, must join political parties and vote for candidates of their choice whose programmes would advance the interest of the Igbos and protect their huge investments in the state'', he advised.
