OGENE UKWU NDI IGBO has sent a very powerful message to its people after rising from a one-day meeting on Monday, a message which the non-governmental organisation deemed absolutely necessary for the survival of the Igbo people in Nigeria.
The Acting President of Ogene Ukwu Ndi Igbo, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) Evangelist Franpeace Duruobi urged the Igbo people to take an active interest and venture into food production as a preparation to sustain the zone in case of any eventuality.
He stated this while addressing the members of the association worldwide at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Imo State on Tuesday.
Mr Durobi added that every necessary arrangement has been put in place to get agricultural machinery for modern agriculture and food production for the zone and the entire nation. He pointed out that anything short of this arrangement would bring about food scarcity both in the region and the entire country.
The President of the Association Prophet Lambert, who is in the USA, according to Evangelist Duruobi is in the know of the ongoing arrangement for he has been reliably informed and efforts are on course to get agricultural equipment for food production.
Responding, the patron of the association, Professor Eke Anyanwu, reportedly thanked members vision of food production.
