The Department of State Security Services, DSS, has released a statement on the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, exonerating him of any shred of tribalism in the appointments he had made so far.
A former Director-General of the DSS, Afakirka A. Gadzama, who made this disclosure in a press statement, maintained that Osinbajo, is neither a tribalist, nor a religious bigot.
The former DSS DG, said given the Acting President’s unalloyed loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerians should reject what he described as “people’s attempt to portray the Acting President as tribal, and a religious bigot.”
“The claim unfortunately, is the stock-in-trade of a section of the elite, who relish in playing the ethnic card, a past-time President Buhari has distanced himself from.
“The allegation is a ploy to create disaffection in some parts of the country. All patriotic Nigerians should be wary of the activities of those behind the smear campaign”, he said.
