Police yesterday debunked claims by Boko Haram that it abducted some female officers during an attack on a convoy in Borno State. The claim was made in a video purported to have been released by the “leader” of the sect, Abubakar Shekau.
In the video, footage of images of some captives, was shown. In the face of this, however, the police maintained that none of their officers was missing.
The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Jimoh Moshood, disclosed this in a telephone interview with New Telegraph yesterday.
He said: “We don’t have any police officer abducted by Boko Haram. There is nothing like that (abduction).”
