Shun acts capable of bringing about outbreak of another civil war - Sultan of Sokoto warns in Port Harcourt

THE Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has warned Nigerians to guard against acting the script that led to the 1967-70 Nigeria-Biafra Civil War.

The Sultan gave the warning in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital at the ‘Traditional Rulers Day’ as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of Rivers.

Nigerians, the Monarch warned further, must desist anything that will endanger the peace, unity and Nigeria as one indivisible nation.

He said,  “As a nation, we have gone through and surmounted the worst of all, a civil war. I think we have lessons to learn from that because very few nations could survive civil war. 

“We must check the lessons and guard against repeating such mistakes and move forward.”
