Governor Rochas Okorocha has threatened to arrest and banished the former chairman Imo state council of traditional rulers HRH Eze Cletus Ilomuanya if he continue to parade himself as a traditional ruler of Obinugwu community in Orlu LGA.
Okorocha told newsmen on Tuesday in Owerri that Ilomuanya has been removed as a traditional ruler and his tenure in office as chairman council of traditional rulers expired
He said that despite the fact that Ilomuanya has gone to court because of his removal from office, he has been parading himself as a traditional ruler and chairman
While the the governor insisted that Ilomuaya is no longer a traditional ruler and would never be again, he warned him to stop parading himself as one
He said:"I will not hesitate to order for the arrest of Ilomuanya if he continues to parade himself as a traditional ruler in the state".
Reacting to this development, the media consultant to Eze Ilomuanya, Kennedy Ewueama said that Ilomuanya would not be deterred by the governors' statement
He said that the Governor has no right to banish anybody and cannot banish or arrest Eze Ilomuanya adding that this is a matter the Supreme Court have decided and governor have fully been communicated to for implementation
He said:"Eze Ilomuanya remains the chairman Imo state council of traditional rulers unless proven otherwise by the court"
