The Indigenous People of Biafra, on Thursday, vowed to use ‘all available means’ to stop a rally planned by the Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano, to show support for President Muhammadu Buhari. A statement made available to journalists by IPOB spokesman, Mr. Emma Powerful, said the solidarity rally is scheduled to hold in Awka, Anambra State capital, on Friday, March 10.
IPOB said a pro-Buhari rally in Anambra State, or any other part of the South-East, would be a display of ‘insensitivity’ to the plight of pro-Biafra agitators allegedly killed by federal troops since the commencement of the Buhari administration. The group warned Obiano and others behind the planned rally to shelve the event, or face ‘incalculable consequences’, should they decide to go ahead with it. IPOB equally warned members of the public to refrain from taking part in the rally. IPOB went ahead to claim that about N500m, allegedly contributed by the Federal Government and Anambra State, is to be shared to those who turn out for the rally.
