An Ado Ekiti Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday remanded Sunday Philip (18) and Terlumun Jar (17) in prison for allegedly beheading a herdsman, Ahmed Usman.
Police prosecutor, Insp. Bayo Ajiboye, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on February 7 in Omu-Ekiti, Oye local government area of Ekiti State.
Ajiboye said the duo committed the offence of conspiracy and murder by killing the herdsman and cutting off his head.
The offences, according to Ajiboye, were punishable under Sections 320 and 319 of the Criminal Code Cap C16 Laws of Ekiti State 2012.
The prosecutor applied for adjournment to enable him sent the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The accused persons’ pleas were not taken by the court.

The Magistrate, Mrs. Modupe Afeniforo, remanded the accused in prison pending the DPP advice.
She adjourned the case to May 24 for mention.
