Reports coming in say no fewer than thirteen lives of lawmakers are under serious threat in Nigeria.
It says 20 Ondo State House of Assembly lawmakers who impeached the erstwhile Speaker, Honourable Jumoke Akindele and two others called the attention of Inspector General of Police, Abubakar Idris and the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, to alleged threat to their lives.
Honourable Iroju Ogundeji, disclosed this in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital while speaking to journalists.
Also, sacked with Jumoke on the allegation of N15m fraud, were the Deputy Speaker, Fatai Olotu and Majority Leader, Ifedayo Akinsoyinu.
According to Hon. Ogundeji, Honourable Akindele was “duly and constitutionally impeached according to Section 92 of 1999 Constitution as amended, we have continued to receive threat messages and telephone calls from unknown callers”.
