A highly placed Presidential source on Saturday evening, revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari, has preferred to speak with Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, rather than the Information Minister, Lai Mohammed.
The source who stated this in an exclusive with Post-Nigeria, revealed that all efforts made by Lai Mohammed to speak with the President, fell flat.
“It is unfortunate that the country’s number one image maker, Lai Mohammed, has not been able to speak with his boss, Buhari. Information reaching us here is that the President based on his wisdom, has declined to speak with Lai Mohammed.
“Although, there are insinuations that the President’s reasons might be based on the mind-set that anything that comes out from the mouth of Lai Mohammed, must be a lie,” the source said.
Recall, that Buhari had initially informed the Senate that he was taking a ten day vacation, handed over power to the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who has been in acting capacity since then.
Buhari however, at the expiration of the ten days, sent another letter to the Senate, that he is taking more days to attend to his health, as he awaits results of medical tests conducted.
Apart from the frequent visits of the some APC top shots to London, Adesina disclosed that he has spoken to the number one citizen in London.
Adesina, who had always maintained that Buhari is ‘hale and hearty’, had always told Nigerians that though he has not spoken to the President, he speaks with those around him in London.
Adesina took to his twitter handle on Saturday saying: “Spoke with PMB a short while ago. Glad to hear his voice. Told me he was resting, but no cause for worry. Said I should greet my family.”
According to him, the President thanked him for holding out against mischief makers.
“Thanks for holding out against mischief makers, PMB tells me during a phone call today. Said he would call again soon. Gave him best wishes”, he tweeted.
He however, did not say if the President sent any message to Nigerians.
Adesina, is the latest person to say he has spoken to the President, ever since Buhari left the country, on January 19, for a medical vacation in London, United Kingdom.
A few individuals, with the last being the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, claim to have spoken with the President, who reportedly told them he is doing fine and only needs to rest.
More recent reports also claim that he spoke with the Governor of his home State, Katsina, Bello Masari.
