Pro-Buhari/Osinbajo in Adamawa state organized a special prayer gathering in Yola for Buhari’s Health on Saturday, 25th February, 2017. The Adamawa state chapter of the APC headed by Hon. Ibrahim Bilal are also among the organizers of the event.
The organizers of the programme had the full support/backing of the SGF Mr. Babachir Lawan, Murtala Nyako, Mal. Nuhu Ribadu, Sen. Abdulaziz Nyako, Sen. Binta Garba, Sen. Mo’Allahyidi and many other Buhari supporters in the state.
The gathering which was attended by tens of thousands of the state’s citizens marched through the major streets of Jimeta/Yola, the state capital. And finally stationed themselves at the APC’s state secretariat where prayers by both Muslims and Christians Clerics were offered.
Ironically, the state Government headed by Gov. Bindow, tried hard to frustrate the actualisation of the gathering, when it appeared clearly they cannot stop the programme, Bindow left town that same day to avoid the gathering.
The governor had earlier made it clear in an event of flagging-off of Girei-Pariya-Wuro Bokki road construction, that his support for Turaki’s 2019 presidential ambition is unshakeable.
Not only boycotting, his appointees and supporters kept pouring abuses to the people who organized the gathering mostly using their social media accounts.
During the gathering at the APC state secretariat along Galadima Aminu way in Yola, a certain young man was sighted holding a poster of Gov. Bindow, the mammoth crowd descended on the boy to lynch him, it took the intervention of the police to save the boy from being lynched.
Ultimately, the boy was asked to leave the venue or throwaway the Bindow’s poster he was holding, since according to the crowd, the Governor deliberately refused to attend the programme because of his hatred to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Not only Gov. Bindow, the former V.P Atiku Abubakar also boycotted the event and all his supporters did the same. According to the reports gathered by iTag, none of his supporters attended the gathering, as the Turaki is eyeing the Buhari’s seat come 2019. So, he cannot support anything Buhari.
The Lamido of Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo, who become too political recently, is also not left behind in trying to sabotage the programme by boycotting the gathering. As a result, no any traditional Title holder graced the occasion.
From the ongoing, it is obvious that Gov. Bindow, Atiku Abubakar and the Lamido are against anything Buhari. The trio had proven that by distancing themselves together with all their supporters, employees and associates from gracing the occasion.
Their supporters even openly criticised the event via media outfits owned by the state government.
