A student of Darussalam Science and Islamic Academy (DAISA) has lost his life while trying to protect hundreds of Muslims worshipers from a bomber at Kaleri mosque, Maiduguri on January 25. According to a post on the school’s Facebook group, the boy had an encounter with a female bomber who tried to force her way into the mosque.
At about 5a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, female bombers attack Maiduguri, Borno and a teenage girl blew herself up after she was prevented from advancing towards a mosque where Muslims where having their morning prayers. The boy, Yakubu Muhammad Fannami, was one of the members of a civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) who prevented the girl. Fannami lost his life immediately the bomb exploded while three other members of the JTF were rushed to a hospital.
