One interesting thing to note here is that Nigerians were still able to feed themselves at the period under sad review when oil, according to the former CSO, sold for a meager sum of $7 as against $50 per barrel today.
Amid other things he gave reasons why the monies in question were removed from Nigeria which he said the late Head of State had no intention to steal.
Recall, President Muhammadu Buhari had equally told Nigerians sometime ago that the late Head of State, Gen. Abacha, did not steal any money which corroborates Mustapha's claim.
However, their claims push one to doubt one's sanity considering the monies that have been returned to Nigeria by foreign countries which date back to President Obasanjo days.
