PARIS, DECEMBER 7, 2016: 8DGW) PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari may have backtracked before the international community in the West African state of Senegal from his earlier claims that Nigerians have a penchant for crime.
He made the disclosure while speaking at a meeting with an 11-man delegation of Nigerian community leaders resident in Senegal and Ivory Coast respectively on the sidelines of the Third Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa.
While speaking, the president reiterated his administration resolve to improve the image of Nigeria by ensuring accountability and probity in governance.
On the welfare of Nigerians in the Diaspora, president Buhari assured them that the Federal Government will continue to promote good neighborliness and improve the negative perception about Nigerians abroad.
“Nigerians are known for their competitiveness and I am very passionate about Nigeria. It is henceforth my bounden duty to begin improving the negative perception about Nigerians and Nigeria abroad.''
“I will continue to preach good neighborliness and work hard to improve the numerous human and material resources in the country,”
