PARIS, DECEMBER 2, 2016: (DGW) Tears, sorrow, and blood trailed the death of thirteen persons following a motoring accident involving a Hummer bus and an articulated lorry on Wednesday that threw everyone in shock at Otte, along the Ilorin/Ogbomoso expressway.
Sources blamed the crash on overspeeding by the bus driver on its way from Kaduna State who veered off the road and rammed into a stationary truck killing all the passengers on the spot
The accident reportedly sparked off an outrage by Otte residents who mobilized to set the truck on fire but for the prompt intervention of policemen.
While confirming the incident to our reporter, Kwara State Police boss, Olusola Amore said, “A fully-loaded bus coming from Kaduna ran into a stationary vehicle and all the passengers died.
“The trailer, which was loaded with goods, has been impounded and we are working with the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) to trace the owner,” he said.
