The Senator representing Kaduna Central District, Shehu Sani, has escaped assassination, as unknown gunmen invaded his campaign office, on Saturday afternoon.
Pockets of casualties were reported, according to Senator Sani’s Aide.
“They were all with dangerous weapons, and all headed across the road where Shehu Sani’s office was. They dispersed some people who were holding meeting in the office,” one resident said.
“Thank God it is a busy area, and there is always the presence of Police Officers. Before it could get out of hand, the thugs ran away.”
Recall, that Senator Sani has been in a running political battle with Governor Nasir El-Rufai, of Kaduna State.
Last week, a faction of the party loyal to the Governor, announced the indefinite suspension of the Senator.
