PARIS, OCTOBER 2016: (DGW) Panic has gripped traders in Owerri, the Imo State capital as the state Governor Rochas Okorocha has threatened that traders who refuse to relocate from Owerri main market to Egbeada market would have their goods seized.
The seized goods , he threatened , would be given to orphanages and the prisons as the deadline issued by his government for the traders to vacate the markets had elapsed.
The order was contained in a statement read by Sam Onwuemeodo, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Rochas Okorocha
The governor, according to the statement warned that goods so seized in the markets would be given to the prisons and orphanages.
Further in the statement, the Governor said he has been exercising restraint to effect the order because of his love for the traders.
