PARIS, OCTOBER 25, 2016: (DGW) No longer at ease the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resolved to hand over the fate of the embattled Minister of Transportation to God.
The Minister has been under fire over the indictment by two judges of the Supreme Court for trying to pervert the course of justice and influence the outcome of the election petitions in Akwa Ibom, Rivers , Ebonyi and Ekiti States.
The party through Ikanya dismissed the allegations adding that Amaechi is an upright man who is clean and God-fearing. He said they are left with no option but to hand over his fate to God as the ultimate judge who will fight for him.
His words:
“We are convinced that God, who has always fought for Amaechi, will continue to protect and strengthen him and will once again vindicate him,” Ikanya said.
Ikanya also said the PDP which is spear-heading Amaechi's call for resignation is morally bound to fail as this has happened in the past during the ministerial screening, and also back in 2007 when they tried in vain to deny him the governorship ticket.
“These calls being championed by the PDP are just the latest manifestation of the party’s frustration and fight against Amaechi in retaliation for his role in dislodging the PDP government at the centre during the 2015 presidential elections.”, he added.
