Barring any last minute change of plans, the All Progressives Congress, APC, is set to unveil a former Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, as its substantive National Publicity Secretary, Post-Nigeria authoritatively gathered, on Wednesday afternoon.
Recall, that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, occupied that office, before he was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Abdullahi, from Kwara State, and an ally of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, served as Minister, under the administration of former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
It was further gathered, that the appointment would be announced before the end of the week, after a meeting of the National Working Committee NWC.
“I can tell you that everything is set. The appointment would be announced soon”, said a high-ranking party source, who is privy to the plan, but who did not want his name in print, because he was not authorised to speak publicly on the matter.
Abdullahi, was himself sighted at the party’s National Secretariat on Monday, ostensibly to meet with the leadership of the party. The position is currently zoned to the North-Central part of the country.
Sources have however, said that Timi Frank, who is currently serving as the Deputy National Publicity Secretary is not happy with the replacement, hence, he maintained that the APC may collapse by January 2017, if nothing urgent is done.
