The court proceedings commenced around 10am. The application was read to the hearing of those present in the court. But unfortunately, the defense team representing the federal government were no where to be found.
However, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead lawyer representing the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu read a letter he reportedly received from the Ministry of Justice notifying the court of their absence, stating that they defense team representing the federal government have an ongoing case in Kaduna and therefore would not be available for today's sitting in ECOWAS court, Abuja.
Meanwhile, Barr. Ejiofor told the court that he (Ejiofor) suspended a case he is in-charge of in Lagos, took a flight this morning to Abuja in order not to bring up any excuse.
Ejiofor therefore prayed the court to grant him the sum of N1 million Naira for his transportation expenses. He also said if any adjournment would be done, it should adjourned to a closer date.
The judge therefore adjourned the case to November 8th and added that judgement would be passed on that day with or without the presence of the legal team representing the federal government.
