Operation Crocodile Smile: See How Soldiers Are Molesting Helpless Niger Delta Woman (Photo)

The Nigerian army has come under fire for allegedly harassing civilians under the guise of carrying out a special operation code named Operation Crocodile Smile in the Niger Delta region. Operation Crocodile Smile which was launched by the army in response to the resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta region has been viewed with apathy by people from the region. However, the military authorities have said the operation is not to harass, intimidate or threaten the communities but also to protect them from the so call miscreant and oil thieves.

But a photo shard by the Niger Delta Avengers showing four soldiers allegedly assaulting a helpless woman purportedly in the Niger Delta has sparked outrage among Nigerians. The photo was shared by the militant group on twitter with a caption alleging that the only thing the soldiers are good at is harassment of old men, women and innocent youths of the Niger Delta. Though the veracity of the photo is yet to be ascertained, some Nigerians have taken to social media to blast the army for abandoning their primary mission and harassing innocent citizens.
