“I still feel unjustly denied my right to go to school by my parents, as I was married off at a very early age,” says 42-year old Amina. Despite her regrets, she has worked hard at evening literacy classes in her community in Niger State.
She can read and write, and now teaches more than 60 women in the literacy classes. She is an advocate of early stimulation/learning for children.
Often, Amina actively engages parents to send their children to school and avoid what she experienced in her early life.
