Alarm has being blown in Igbere, Bende Local Government Area in Abia State, the hometown of the former State governor, Chief Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu following the invasion of Fulani herdsmen who are currently terrorizing the community.
According to Mrs. Ugo John from Eziama in Igbere who spoke to US, the herdsmen flooded the community and even school fields with herds of cattle, destroying properties without fear.
Mrs. John also revealed to US that the herdsmen have taken over most of the farmlands belonging to the indigenes of the community where they built over fifty huts as they continue to map out strategies on how to unleash mayhem on the people of Igbere just as it was done in Agatu, Attakwu and Uzo-Uwani.
Meanwhile, the entire people of Igbere are not taking it lightly as moves to completely chase out these parasites called herdsmen have massively begun.
Another indigene from Onu-Ibinaukwu confirmed to US that several people from the community have gone and are still going to Bende Local Government to protest the barbarism of the Fulani herdsmen and from what we gathered, the farmers are no longer going to farm, even shop owners now close on top for fear of the obvious.
