A footage showing the moment Governor Yahaya Bello of the Kogi state being stoned shortly after the Jumat prayer in Lokoja, the state capital, last week has emerged. Recall that the governor wa bombarded with stones, rotten fruits and vegetables by the disgruntled locals who also carried placards and chanted anti-government slogans as a reaction to the worsening economic situation in the state.
However, teacting to the development Kingsley Fanwo, the governor’s press secretary, said that the incident was provoked by those who are against his radical reforms in the state’s civil service. He is convinced that thugs were hired by his political enemies who are pursuing personal interests.
