A member of Board of Trustees of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief George Moghalu has asked the Niger-Delta Avengers,
Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB to put down their tools and embrace negotiation in the interest of the country.
Moghalu who is also the national auditor of the party while speaking with journalists at his Nnewi country home said the APC government by President Muhammadu Buhari was prepared to discuss with the militants to bring a lasting solution to the security crisis in the country.
“The solution is dialogue. I want to appeal to the Avengers to stop the destruction of public facilities .They are not Buhar’s facilities. We are operate a mono economy and with the destruction of public facilities, we will not develop. The government is prepared to discuss with them to negotiate.
“I beg the IPOB and MASSOB to down their tools and embrace negotiation.”
On IPOB and MASSOB, he said:“Being an unrepentant Igbo man, I will not support any madness by my brothers. All we need is dialogue. We have prominent Igbo men in the National Assembly and the presidency. We can get what we want through the elder statesmen and stakeholders that would solve our problem through negotiation.”
He appealed to Nigerians to have patience with the Buhari administration, assuring that the present economic downturn in the country was being tackled headlong and would soon be a thing of the past.
“I share the pain of every Nigerian but the truth is that the situation was so bad. Buhari met a system that was totally comatose. He is a man who does not want half measures. He wants things done well”.
