There are strong indications that President Muhammadu Buhari, and the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have frowned at the call by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Comrade Timi Frank, for the immediate resignation of its National Leader, Bola Tinubu, and all members of the Party’s National Working Committee, NWC.
This came as the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, on Friday night, called for the resignation of Tinubu and the NWC members of the party, for their ineptitude in resolving the internal crisis in the party.
Recall, that the APC has been enmeshed in crisis, both at the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Frank, who spoke with the media in Abuja, also stated that the opposition political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has a better mechanism to resolve its internal crisis.
He blamed the leadership of the APC, for not intervening and ending the crisis in the National Assembly.
According to him, since the APC won the Presidency, the leadership of the party has not been able to resolve any crisis in the party, either at the Federal or State level.
Condemning the APC National Working Committee, Frank said: “The purpose of this address, is to brief the press about the silence of our party about the crisis rocking the National Assembly, particularly the House of Representatives.“It is disheartening to note that the party has not waded into resolving the crisis involving two members of the party at the House of Representatives.“The issue rocking the National Assembly is embarrassing to our party, and to Nigerians.“This is not a personal attack against the leadership of the party, it is because the silence of my party all the time is not good for democracy and our government as at today.“I can tell you clearly, nobody will want to speak, I believe it is my duty as the Acting Publicity Secretary of the APC, to speak, even in my own capacity to intervene at this time.“This is not the first time our party is keeping quiet on issues that borders on individual members of the party or party members from various States. Till today, we have not been able to resolve the crisis involving our members at the Senate.“I respect the National Chairman, he’s like a father to me, but again, this is an issue that has to do with our political party, if we can’t manage it, then the current leadership under Oyegun is not competent”.
